About Us

The 1st meeting of the Harlow Referee's Society took place in the Essex Skipper public house on the 22nd March 1955 to propose the formation.

An inaugural member, Arthur Dimond (above left), became the appointments secretary who then later on become our president, mentor and overall influence to all over the later years and to whom our venue is now named after.

The Society moved from Moot House, The George Hotel, London Road (no longer there) to the Harlow Sports Centre in October 1955 then on to the BP Social club before its current premises at Harlow Town Cricket Club.

The society has continued to grow with a strong number of members containing a wide range of knowledge including retired football league officials, Wembley final officials and current officials progressing through the ranks.

We celebrated our 50th year at the Churchgate Hotel in June 2005 and are still going strong.

We meet on the 2nd Monday of every other month with guest speakers on a range of topics. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!
